OpenSkylight Calendar · Last updated: October 9, 2026
OpenSkylight Calendar ("the app") is a family calendar display that runs on one computer in one household. This policy explains what information the app accesses when you connect your Google account, and what happens to it.
What the app accesses
If you choose to connect a Google account, the app asks for permission to:
- View and edit your Google Calendar (the Google Calendar API scope
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar), so it can show your events and create or change events you make on the display.
- See your email address (the
openid and email scopes), so it can show which Google account is connected.
How the information is used and stored
- Calendar data and your sign-in token are stored only on the computer running the app. The sign-in token is stored encrypted.
- The app talks directly to Google. There is no server operated by the developer in between, and the developer does not receive, collect, or have access to your calendar data, your email address, or your sign-in token.
- Your Google data is used only to provide the calendar features described above. It is not sold, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI or machine-learning models.
- No humans read your Google data. It stays on your device.
Other services the app contacts
These do not involve your Google data. If you set a weather location, the app sends that location's coordinates to Open-Meteo to get a forecast. If you add news (RSS) or calendar (ICS) feeds, the app downloads them from the addresses you enter.
Google API Services User Data Policy
The app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data and revoking access
- In the app, open Settings → Calendars and choose Disconnect on the Google account. This removes that account's calendars and events from the display and permanently deletes the stored sign-in token. The app stops accessing your Google account immediately.
- You can also revoke the app's access at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
